Sorry for the lack of posts this last month, I have not been well. I have got a very bad cough and cold, I had a chest infection and now I have sinusitis with my lips full of cold sores which are quite painful (i'm not a pretty sight at the best of times but now I look worse...lol). So i'm feeling sorry for myself right now.

I hope to get back in the swing of things after Christmas. Thanks for being patient.

I also used the Iridescent spray & sparkle by Crafters Companion, and the blue card stock is from The Papermill Shop. I also made the flowers using the small and large flower punch from Xcut.

This card I used the It's Funky Too CD ROM for the patterned background papers, I do love how rich they look. The red background paper is from the Speciality paper pack from Crafters Companion. I also used a vintage topper from one of Joanna Sheen's CD rom's, can't remember which as I printed and cut it out months ago.
The flowers were a gift from a friend.

Get Funky June Sketch Challenge

Here is my card for the Get Funky and Craft Blog Challenge.

I used the "It's Funky Too" CD-ROM for the background papers, I sprayed the papers with Gold Spray and Sparkle from Crafters Companion.

I also used "The Snowman" CD-ROM from Crafters Companion for the images and also "The Snowman" rubber sentiment stamp. I added a rose and ribbon from my stash that was a gift from a friend.

All this was mounted on some dark blue card stock from "The Paper Mill shop" in the shape of an easel card.

I made my first Snowman card using the new Snowman CD ROM from Crafters Companion. All papers and the topper was from the CD, I just added some silver mirri board and white linen effect card stock for the base card. I hope you like it.

I love how this turned out, i wouldn't have normally used this combination of papers as they are quite bold, but they work so well together.

Sorry for being away so long, I've been struggling with my MoJo and also spent ages moving my craft room to my front reception room downstairs, so that my son could have his own room. I didn't realised how much stuff I had till I had to move it.

I thought i'd make a FRIEND birthday card. I used my Cricut for this project using a cut file from SVGCUTS.COM called Premium Pop Up Cards.

My neice has given birth to an adorable baby boy 7wks early at 1.16am and weighing 4lbs 15ozs, she had no pain relief only gas and air and she is only 16yrs old. I'm really proud of her and love her loads and loads, well done Alex.

I've not been able to get my printers feeder tray to work properly, it keeps jamming even with 120gsm paper. I have finally convinced my hubby to buy me a new one, but not only a new one but an A3 one, i've so been after one since forever. I looked around for a few days looking at the best deals and what was on offer and found that the Brother DCP-6690CW was the perfect one for me and my needs. PC Pro magazine fully recommended it. So he's bought it me and it will be delivered within 2 working days.

This is it....i'm so chuffed to pieces.

MPS 5 Million Celebration Post #2 - Challenge!

It had to have a bird incorporated into the card design, so I chose an Halloween card with a spooky tree from Happy Hauntings cartridge along with a silhouette crow also from the same cart. I feel bad i've not been keeping up with my blogging, I've been dreading the day when the kids went back to school and started bringing home bugs and germs from other children and passing them onto me and their daddy.

Well i have been full of a cold now for almost 2 weeks and there's no sign yet of it clearing up....:-( I have the bad cough now and catarrh on my chest and bad headaches. I'm hoping there is a sign of improvement by Saturday for my kiddies birthday party. Ryan has just turned 6 and Sophie will be 5 on the 3rd Oct, so they're having a joint party midway between their birthdays. I really don't feel up to it, but its all booked now so can't cancel.....oh well i'll have to grin and bare it.

I am contacting you because my father(mom & dad in photo) had a stroke on the 18th of Aug. he just got out of the ICU.. Both of my parents live with me, and my father has been a constant stone in the lives of our families..He has owned and worked at his own cabinet shop for over 40years, never advertised.. all his clients were by word of mouth.. but now he will not be able to return to work.. He has no feeling in his right side and his speech has been affected. I found out from my mother that they have very poor insurance, the hospital bills alone is going to be a great burden for her (and our family) to bear, let alone rehab etc. So I along with 4 other amazing digital stamp artists are putting together a fundraiser.

J.I.C Blog challenge 9

Okay! This weeks challenge is a Sketch, this is such an easy sketch challenge and i loved it.

This is my take on the sketch. I used a vibrant yellow cardbase from The PaperMill shop,

Also I matted a very Orange cardstock onto that also from The PaperMill shop,

The beige card stock is from a matt stack from the neutrals range of DCWV, The 2 patterned matts are also from DCWV The Naturals matstack range.

The Sun shape and circle was an svg cut from Penny Duncans Blog, and the flower was a punch from the Martha Stewart Range.

For the centre of the flower i used some gold flat backed pearls i bought on ebay at bobityboocrafts. I also used some bronzed flat backed pearls for the four corners.

Well what a day I had yesterday with my PC, It cost my hubby over two hundred pounds to put right Via DELL back in Feb and now its given up the ghost again. First i started seeing error messages to do with Virtual Memory, this went on for a couple of days and then blue screens, and now it won't even start up in safe mode or any other mode. I got so frustrated with it that I now have ordered a new Samsung R580 Laptop which has cost a small fortune, but hopefully it will be an end to all my PC problems....I can't wait for it to be delivered.

This weeks Challenge for Just inspirational Challenges is to use a digi image by Delicious Doodles and I chose the Puppy in a Present Box.

I imported the digi image into SCAL and converted it to an SVG file. I separated the layers so that i could paper piece them together. The papers are from a freebie pack in the Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine August issue 81 and Provocraft.

I used a Martha Stewart punch, some Crystal Glamour Dust, some mirri board and some ribbon from my stash.

Here is my entry, I have used the new Souffle the duck cd rom for this sketch.

Some lovely Prima Lilies, some heart gems by CraftyBitz and some faux brads from craftworkcards.

The mirri board is from the Glitter Girls, the Yellow base card is from The Paper Mill Shop and finally I spray the topper with the gold spray & sparkle from CC.

Wow this week has gone so quick and we're now about to start the new challenge for Just Inspirational Challenges. We have a colour challenge this week for you and it's:

Pink, Cream and Brown with Ribbon, Buttons/gems and glitter.

Lothian Crafts are to sponsor our challenge this time. Rachel will get back to us with the prize.

Here is my Challenge 2 card. For this i used Stazon-Timber Brown and Archival Ink - Coffee ink pads to cover the surface of the base card. I printed off checkered pink and brown paper from Barely Mine Extreme CD Rom and punched it with the Martha Stewart Scalloped Lacey Punch. The tree/sentiments stamps are from Pollycraft and was stamped in the Archival Ink in Coffee colour and coloured it with Copics. The image is from Magnolia but can't remember her name I also coloured her with Copics. The Ribbon is from C & C, the gems were from a craft class I went to. Finally I glittered the heart on the tree with Glamour Dust.

Just inspirational Challenges 1st Challenge

Today is our first challenge on the new Just Inspirational Challenges blog, why not pop over there and check out the challenge. There is a prize from Donna's Den of Crafts for the winner.

The first challenge was to follow a sketch and was asked to make it a love theme, i.e: wedding, anniversary, card for loved one etc.

Here is my sketch 1 DT card. I used the Barely Mine cd for the papers which i printed onto glossy photo paper. The base card is 320gsm linen card, the large flower i got from Sharon Duncan, the BE MINE Sentiment was from the Cute Companions Romance stamp set and the Heart brad was from my local Range store. I also used a Martha Stewart Scalloped Lace punch for the side edge.

Challenge 10 was chosen this week by Wendy and she chose for us to do a sketch. We were also asked to use the colours browns and blues and we could add one other colour of our choice to the two Wendy has chosen.

Unfortunately I missed the launch on Create and Craft today, but will not miss the show this evening at 11pm.

CC Blog challenge 9

Here is my Stepper card for this weeks challenge. We had to make a Monochromatic, card so I chose to make it in shades of browns.

I used the latest Beatrix Potter cd set and used an image from the Two Bad Mice cd. I used a brown base card and a bronzey brown foiled matting card for mounting the images onto.

NSD Challenge 8 - "Love My Color" over at My Pink Stamper

For this challenge we had to do a Monochromatic card/project plus a neutral colour and a flower.

For this card I used the Birthdays and Beyond and Gypsy Wanderings cartridges.

I cut an heart with a fancy cut pattern within it and the sentiment "Hugs To You" the colours i used are 2 shades of blue plus cream for the base card and flower.

This is to be my hubbys birthday card which is today Sunday 2nd May.

I have really enjoyed using my Gypsy, it totally ROCKS!!

I used the Gypsy Wanderings Cart that came preloaded on the Gypsy for the cut outs on both cards, they look super cool!

I also used for this card a Martha Stewart punch for the border, 2 Prima flowers from the Daisy Doodles range, the brads are from The Range, The ribbon was part of a gift from my really good friend Wendy and the cardstock i had in my stash.

On this card I also used the Martha Stewart punch and again the ribbon was a gift from Wendy.

The Thank You stamp on both cards was from a Marie Curie set from Paper Mania and the tiny gems are from Create and Craft.

Dad lost his fight!

Well my Dad has finally lost his fight against cancer. He died peacefully in his sleep at 06.45am this morning. I have always had an on off relationship with my dad all my life and up until i found out he had cancer, we hadn't spoken for over 18mths. We had a silly argument over something so stupid and we were both too stuborn to give in and make amends.

My Dads brother spoke to him and he had finally gave in and he said i could go and see him...which was a break through and i thank him for that, but my sister Wendy put a spanner in the works and he again refused to see me. On Saturday just gone my hubby and my self took the children round to see him and he still refused to let us in to see him, so we drove the 300+ miles back home and i thought sod him. Then on Tuesday my Uncle phoned me and said he had just found out that we had tried to see him on Saturday and was disgusted that he turned us away and gave him a telling off and got him to change his mind. We had planned to go and see him this Saturday and now its too late, I can't say my good byes now and/or apologise for the argument we had and for the things we both said to each other...

REST IN PEACE DAD....I LOVE YOU!!

Yeah my Gypsy arrived while I was away up north at my neices Christening, not had time to play with it yet as it needs to be charged and has i don't have an adapter for the plug (usa 2 pins), i'm gonna have to wait til i get one.

Today I made this Christening card for my new niece who will be getting Christened on Sunday.

I have used my cricut to cut the sentiment on the front and my niece's name Jenna.

I used a Martha Stewart punch to decorate the edges and to create a ribbon effect down the left side (right side as you look at it). The diecut frame is from a Nellie Snellen die frame range.

CC blog Challenge 8

This weeks challenge 8 was chosen by myself and it was to make something 3D

and I chose to make a gift bag. For this i used some red woven effect paper from one of Crafters Companion special paper packs, White swirl embossed card from C & C and i edged it using a Martha Stewart punch. I stamped popcorn bear onto some white cardstock and coloured parts of the image with Copic markers.I mounted it onto a piece of red cardstock that i run through the cuttlebug using a Nellie's frame die. I used a white gel pen to create the stitch effect on the body of the bag and topped it off with a red and white spotted ribbon to close the bag.

MPS Challenge- PINK, GREEN & BLACK

This is my first MPS Challenge, and for the challenge we had to use the Cricut and 3 colours, Pink, Green and Black.

First I cut the Hippo on my cricut using the Animal Kingdom Cartridge. I then cut the words Wild Thing, I also used the Animal Kingdom Cartridge for this. I matted some Provocraft cardstock on top of some shiney black card stock after punching a border on both mats using a Martha Stewart punch. I then added some polka dot ribbon to pretty it up. I then put the matting onto a pretty pink card, added some glamour dust the words and glued them in place with a zig two way glue pen. Finally i added the Hippo with some dimensionals....cute or what!

I used a svg file for the scalloped matting from Penny Duncan Creations.

Sorry for not updating sooner, i've not been too well with all the stress and the recovery of my surgery its been taking its toll on my body.

Well I didn't get up north to see my dad ( reasons i don't want to get into as it is too upsetting ), i've been so stressed out that my scalp is flaking really badly and i'm getting chest pains. I need to get checked out at the doctors for this. I will now be going up north to see him Easter weekend and hopefully be in a better frame of mind to update when i get back.

Dad is not fairing too well at the moment but don't know everything till i get up there to hear it first hand from dad himself. I've been getting bits and bats of info from my eldest sister, but she's not a very reliable source and have had to ask my uncle for info as he's been at his bedside everyday day since his diagnosis. All i know is that he can't get out of bed because of the pain he's in and he can't each solid food because his throat is very sore. The Macmillan nurses go in daily to give him pain relief injections to keep him comfortable. He also can't have Chemo or Radium therapy because his heart won't stand the treatment. This is everything that i know and will update when i get home after Easter.

Sorry peeps, i'm not gonna be contributing to my blog for sometime. I was told last week that my father has terminal cancer, so myself and my daughter are gonna be going up North to Burnley to see him and stay for wee while. I'm told he only has at the max a few months left has it is his left lung and liver.

DT - CC Blog Challenge 5

I just love how this turned out. It made a perfect 80th Birthday card for my hubby's Nan.

For this I used:

Barely Mine Designer Extreme CD for the Creamy spotted background, I then mounted it on some gold foiled linen matt board.

The topper from Rob Addams Flowers Cd and was suppose to be Gold but it printed out in a vibrant Orangey Red colour.... but looks really good in this colour, I then mount it onto some red bubble embossed mirri board. I added the text Grandmother instead of a sentiment and put 80 in the top right corner of the topper. The Gold strips across the front was cut from the same Gold Foiled Linen Matt board.

My Op was a success but i've got 4 incisions, 1 in my belly button this is very sore, 1 in between my chest and 2 running down the side of my ribs, these 2 are the most painful.

I'm allowed home sometime today but now i'm looking forward to having breakfast as i've not eaten since midnight Thursday, I tried to eat a late dinner of some soup and jelly but just brought it back.

Well hopefully i'll be fine when i get home and won't be too long out of action. Will update again when i do get home.

I'm in hospital today

I peeps, I am currently in hospital and have brought my hubby's laptop in with me as they have a WIFI connection in the room. I am having my Gall Bladder removed this morning at around 11am'ish and am getting very anxious at the thought of going into theatre and being put under.

The nurses here in the Oaks Hospital in Colchester are very nice, caring and friendly. But it still doesn't stop me from worrying. I've seen the consultant and Anaethsetist and they've tried to put my mind at ease and have advised that i have a pre-med to calm me down a bit. I've had nothing to eat or drink since midnight and my tummy is beginning to think my throat has been cut....lol, my mouth feels like fungus....yuk!

Anyway i need to get into my Op gown now and those passion killing stockings they have you wear...lol

If i'm feeling up to it i'll pop back later this evening and give an update after my op.

Wish me luck, cos i'm gonna need it.

Nan's 80th Birthday Party Invite

My mum in law asked me to make the invites for her mums 80th Birthday Party and she was over the moon with what i made.

I used the Barely Mine Designer Extreme cd for the card base, I then used the Cricut "walk in my garden for the vase and stems and I used SCAL and one of the fonts on my pc for the You're Invited and the 80.

I then used the Lacey Scallop punch from Martha Stewart to edge the insert and printed a photo of Nan inside with the invite details.

Here is my first Valentine Card commission i've made for a friend.

This is A4 in size and i'm really please with how it has turned out. It took me a few days to make as i'd quite a bit of cutting out to do but i thoroughly enjoyed it.

The challenge was to use the colours Orange and Yellow. For this is altered a KP Peanuts tin.

I am not happy with this and how it turned out and having only 6 days to come up with something, My pc crashed and also my backup pc crashed, Its not been my weekend as it all happened on Sunday morning and i still haven't got them going. I received my new Popcorn cd yesterday and can't even have a play. :-( My hubby thinks i've taken over his laptop hee hee. Hopefully i may have it up and running by end of the week. I'm just glad I backed everything up this time..Phew!
